48 Hours
The last 48 hours of my life have been equal parts unbelievable & unbelievably amazing. After spending the majority of my life on my own, with the only family near by being the friends & ex that I shared my life with…….. to have been sitting a table, having lunch today with my mom, my aunt, my uncle, and all my cousins…. I have to say that it was the one way of spending NYE’s- that I would never have thought possible. My cousin Laurie, is amazing. I forgot we were only 2 years apart, and the last time I saw here was when I spent the summer in New York/ New Haven visiting the family, when I was 15. It was the first time I’d seen my Uncle Joey, … Read entire article »

Well.. .here’s to a new run
I got laid off today. On a side note, I didn’t know that many people at work cared so much about me. People have been calling and texting all day. It’s weird to feel so much love, from such a bummer of a situation. Well.. here’s to hoping that it’s true… when one door closes, another opens. … Read entire article »

Here We Go
Again. I’m editing this since it’s amazing how much better I feel now, then I did when I woke up. So in the spirit of an attitude adjustment… I figured this needed adjusting to. Actually, I think I covered most everything I was feeling in yesterday’s novel of a rant…. Last night I got to hang out with one of my BFFs- and damn if that wasn’t great. I’ve got a thousand and one guy friends, but few really close girlfriends. So lately I’ve been making it a point to hang out with my group of girls when time permits. Plus, I’ve actually made some new ones along the way recently, which has been equally great. I grew up with all guys, so I’m pretty familiar with how they work… … Read entire article »

The Year Of Upgrades
I’ll be right back, this is gonna need some liquid fuel. *commercial break* Ok… coffee in hand, music on, tucked into my favorite jammies- and I’m ready to roll. First, I have to share this horoscope……… it’s not mine but it’s still bodes well for me. haha “Leo - December 25, 2008 The celestial configuration may bring you closer together to a certain person with whom you have recently become romantically involved. Neither of you has exactly rushed into the relationship, yet you both have the intuition that you are meant for each other, and so time is not really an issue. You both feel secure in each other’s company, and are very content to deepen the bond between you” Anyway, so I’ve been thinking alot about what I want out of 2009. Since I spent Nov, Dec & … Read entire article »

Merrily Unhappy
Yup. This is gonna be quick & dirty. I’m in a horrible mood and am having a hard time shaking it this morning. I hate those days that you simply wake up and want to rail against the world. For some unknown reason, I have zero patience with work, the family, the boy everything today… well ok, mostly work…. everything else is progressing at it’s normal pace and I guess it’s just frustrating since we’re supposed to generate revenue here- for this week, and I find it hard to even get a meeting set up. For starters, we’re out of the office starting xmas eve…. as well as the entire city seemingly being gone already for the holidays. It’s just a freaking battle with the only thing on the line, … Read entire article »

Dear God… it’s Me. Rya.
Ha… remember those books when you were a kid? Was it Judy Blooms series? I don’t really remember, I just remember the series… I think she’s the one who wrote the Ramona The Pest series too. The best kids book that I can remember though, were the Trixie Belden series. She kicked that two-bit goody goody girl, Nancy Drew’s butt. Everyone I knew was in to Nancy Drew… I thought she was kinda silly… Trixie was where it was at. Anyway… that’s a random little ditty for you and a helluva way to open up today’s morning thoughts. For some reason I couldn’t quite unwind last night… I got off from the club relatively early, then just did what I do best…. hung around for a bit, then headed home. … Read entire article »

Cocaine Fiends
ha… the title has nothing to do with anything except it was the first DVD on my shelf that I saw, when I looked up thinking “hmmm… what should I open this tangent with” and voila… it was either that or Attack Of The Giant Leeches and/or Dead Like Me. All great films for various shoddy content. Well, the Dead Like Me series is actually amazing but sadly it’s no longer on the air… Attack of The Giant Leeches, is exactly what you would expect. Thin story line and weak special effects. I love it for all it’s cinematic Blob-like niche horror flick-ness. haha Odd sentence structure but just roll with it. This last week at work was insane. We’re all holding our collective breaths to see what’s going to … Read entire article »

Funny Thing About Regret
They say it’s better to regret something you have done, then regret something you haven’t done. Personally – I think that’s a bunch of crap. I don’t normally waste my time and energy regretting something…. unless it’s deserving. Last night falls into that category. I’ve been trying not to drink- which isn’t going well, especially considering that I’m now working part time in a nightclub in addition to my real job. The real job is driving me to drink (at the club) ha… anyway, I stopped by the bar on the way home last night, specifically since I wanted a veggie burger from this particular place. Everything started well, got the food to go… had a drink… started to leave. Made friends, got social. New friends bought lots of drinks… … Read entire article »

Turning Pro
” When the going gets weird….. the weird turn pro. ” -Hunter S Thompson. Things have been fairly busy in my life lately, so with what little downtime I’ve had- I’ve been in self-imposed social isolation….. which isn’t nearly as bad as it sounds. Mostly, the little bit I’ve been at home, has simply involved either sleeping, or stretched out in my jammies, reading. I’ve cycled through 4 books in a matter of a week….. and ended up coming full circle with one of my favorite authors. Tom Robbins, has always had a unique talent for adding life to an otherwise average passage. This tangent, below, always cracks me up: “”Who knows how to make love stay? Tell love you are going to the Junior’s Deli on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn to pick up … Read entire article »
