Parenting Surprise #892

Today, the unexplainable happened.
My two-year-old asked me to leave his room during our usual Nap Battle Royale. Thinking it was some new battle tactic, I laughed and obliged. Cause hey, I’m not stupid. If a kid asks you to take beat it, take the bait and head for the hills. So I did. I kicked rocks like a pro and left his room with a flourish, fully expecting sounds of crying and door banging. Instead… silence. Gathering up my courage and armed with a first-aid kit, I checked in on him.

And there, in his tiny bed…. was what could only be described as a Thanksgiving Miracle. A peaceful toddler, snoozing away with one arm tossed around his stuffed Puppy.
